Girls,
Very good game. As I said at halftime, we needed to go up another goal or two, so something goofy doesn't happen... We were a much better team and need to make sure we don't put games like that in referee's hands. I know that was a tough loss, especially considering how hard you girls worked (with only two subs too), and you really did so many good things that game.
I saw some good overlaps which set up some good crosses, we picked up from last game by playing away from pressure, stepping into and winning balls for the most part. Girls, outside of us not finishing on many great opportunities, and about 1/2 of our team really struggling with our left foot in every aspect of the game, we really played a good game! Just an fyi... In order to HELP YOU with your left foot, when I see times that we don't use it when it is an obvious situation that it should have been used, you will be subbed out. Using your left foot is simply discipline in making yourself do it, along with practicing with it on your own--left foot juggling, and left foot passing against a wall, such as side of your house.
Obviously Ciara stepped to the ball and cleared it, and the girl ran into her and fell down. Ciara did everything right, but again, we can't put the game in the refs hands. Ciara, DO NOT play timid as a result of that call. Continue to play smart and hard as I witnessed the last two games from you! And Olivia, it was a perfect penalty shot. The fact you even got close to the ball was amazing (what are you, 3 out of 4 saves this season on PK's??!).
Enjoy your day girls, and I'll see you all at practice Monday. You worked hard, and even though the result didn't show it with the 1-1 tie, you pretty much dominated the game!
Brian
