Girls, watch at the 40 second mark, and you'll see a lot of "up, back, through" passing.  I love how this video is called "Attacking Soccer", since that is what I have been referring to this as!


Girls/Parents,

Last night's 15 minutes of running was a great start.  It was obvious that a 3-4 girls got through it pretty easy, and about 8-9 girls got through it (and will continue to get better), and 4-5 girls struggled and couldn't finish.

Girls, I do want you to continue to push yourself.  If you feel lightheaded, sick, or injured--sit out--I don't want anyone passing out on me, or throwing up.  But I do want you to push yourself otherwise.

Within a couple weeks, we should ALL be able to finish the type of running we did last night.  Some of the girls that finished within the top 5 already came from a practices where they actually ran more than what I ran everyone last night.  So, I thank the girls who showed up in outstanding shape.

I would recommend for some of the girls who could not finish, to find time to run each day (sprints and distance).  With only two weekly practices, and one falling on a friday, which will be usually the practice before game day--that only gives me one practice to truly run you girls.  So, again, please find it in yourself to do what you need to get in the cardio shape required for this game!

PS--remember to send your video links of "Up, Pass, Thru" examples.  You could probably google terms such as "overlap soccer", combination play soccer, Attacking soccer", Through pass soccer, Counter Attack Soccer", etc.  Hope this helps.  And please put the link in the comments section of THIS POST!  Thanks.
