Girls,
Open the link below and watch the 1:04 mark and the 1:10 mark.  At the last training session, we learned 3 very effective turns.  These three turns are mandatory for all of you to be able to do without thinking; so we will continue to work on them in the future.  They are used at least 40 or more times every professional game I watch.  In this video, you will see how these two turns (1:04 and 1:10) are used on an offensive attack, which results in a goal!

At the 1:04 mark, you will see the defender have the ball played to the foot that is CLOSEST to the defender, but then touches it through his legs and turns (we called this the "trick turn"--remember, "bait" the defender to go for the ball by calling it to the foot closest to her).

And the turn at the 1:10 mark is the most common turn used in pro soccer.  We called it the "inward turn".  Please pay attention how his touch is so perfect on the ball that it almost appears that the ball "sticks" to his foot.  It really is a perfect turn!

This game actually took place today.  Liverpool was leading 2-0 at halftime, but Arsenal came back to tie the game 2-2.  Both teams are doing well this year in the English Premiere League (EPL).

Enjoy (and practice these turns!!!).

(Chris Sturm, these are the turns I used for your team too last session.  So, feel free to forward this link to your team so they can also see these turns used in live game action!).
